Credit Reporting Agencies
A credit reporting agency is a company (Agency) that compiles information about you and your credit history. The information is gathered from several sources including public records, credit card companies, banks and other sources that are reporting on reliable credit information. These companies make the credit history report available to anyone that has your permission to request it. The credit reporting agencies are not able to extend or deny credit merely report on it.
It is important to know that all three credit reporting agencies are considered when evaluating ones credit as all three of them are used when you are evaluated by a creditor to determine you as a credit risk.
